A second grande dame of the visual art world has passed away - - - - - 2007 Jeane Duffey our friend who has been with CIPA since its inception and who is more widely known as theInternational Editor of the International Artists Magazine died suddenly on December 1st of a heart attack. Jeane was a friend and supporter of CIPA. She promoted our organization internationally and was never without a generous word for those she considered visual artists of integrity. She will be sorely missed. To Peter and the Duffey family we extend our most heartfelt condolences. (At the request of Jeane's family - No flowers or memorials please) Biography:JEANE DUFFEY S.F.C.A., A.C.P., C.I.P.A. Jeane Duffey has Canadian and British citizenship. She was born and trained in England. Her family tree contains so many different nationalities that she feels very much at home amongst the diverse peoples of Canada. She lives in Tsawwassen, near Vancouver, B.C. Canada. Many of her works are included in private and corporate collections around the world. People particularly like to take them as reminders of their time in the west of Canada. Jeane has exhibited too widely to catalogue fully. Some exhibitions include:- Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.(Honorary R.I. Membership ‘95-’96). Royal Society of British Artists. Apart from the original paintings in watercolours, acrylic, and gouache, which are exhibited regularly in many galleries, Jeane’s works have been extensively published in the worldwide market. Her work may be found in more than 45 countries. Serigraphs have been published by Christies Contemporary Art Galleries, and also in Canada. Special commissions or dedicated prints include IKEA, Marks & Spencers Plc.(U.K.), Habitat (U.K.), Nature Company (U.S.), Decor Corporation, (U.S.), Boots Plc,(U.K.), The Canadian Red Cross. The Bentall Corporation, The Vancouver Canucks, and many others. Jeane works in acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, gouache, pastel, and conté crayon. She particularly enjoys portrait commissions. She was President of the Federation of Canadian Artists for 1992 - 1994. She is the International Editor of International Artist Publishing Inc. |
